PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a beautiful golden image recording material and a method for forming an image capable of easily forming a beautiful golden image having a metallic gloss by an ink jet recording method.;SOLUTION: The golden image recording material comprises a recording medium visually recognizable at a metallic gloss surface through an ink acceptive layer and having a minimum point or a point of inflection of an absorption distribution in a wavelength range of 500 to 600 nm being metallic gloss visually recognizable, and an image recording part having an absorbance in a wavelength range of less than 500 nm and lower than that at the minimum point or the like. The method for forming the golden image comprises the steps of forming the golden image with a gold-colored ink made of at least one type or more of ink on the recording medium visually recognizable at the metallic gloss surface through the ink acceptive layer by an ink jet recording method, wherein chromaticities calculated from a spectral transmittance of a diluted liquid diluted 2,000 times as dilute as the ink with water in the gold- colored ink used for forming the golden image are a* = 5 to 25 and b* = 25 to 60 in the ink.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
