PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cleaning method and device for ultraviolet irradiation lamp of toxic substance treatment device, capable of being cleaned without being taken out from a treatment tank. ;SOLUTION: An ozonizer 15 supplies ozone gas 2 to raw water 1 in a treatment tank 11, and the raw water 1 is irradiated with ultraviolet rays from an ultraviolet lamp 13 installed in the treatment tank 11 at the same time. Thereby, a toxic substance treatment device decomposes hardly-decomposable substances contained in the raw water 11. When scale or the like is stuck to the ultraviolet lamp 13, an acid solution 4 is added to the raw water 1 from an acid solution supplying device 16 so that pH of the raw water 1 in the treatment tank 11 is adjusted to an acidic region (pH 4-6), cleaning the ultraviolet lamp 13. Subsequently, an alkaline solution 5 is added to the raw water 1 from an alkaline solution supplying device 17 so that pH of the raw water 1 in the treatment tank 11 is adjusted to neutral to weak alkaline regions (pH 7-9).;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
