PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a calculating method using a data storage medium for quickly and securely carry out the calculating work and contribute to the saving of natural resources. SOLUTION: An order data is stored in the data storage medium 8 having a sheet 10 formed of a film of a heat-sensitive coloring body 9 to be reversibly color changed by the temperature fluctuation, and the temperature fluctuation in compliance with the order data is generated to change the color of the heat- sensitive coloring body 9, by which the sheet 10 whereon the data is printed is issued as a slip, and the order data stored in the data storage medium 8 of the issued sheet 10 is read to perform the calculation work. Thus, for instance, in the case the order data for drinks at a restaurant is stored in the data storage medium 8, the order data stored in the data storage medium 8 is just-read when the calculation is performed to generate no human errors such as the double issuance and the oversight of bills and quickly and securely performs the calculation work and also reuses the slips and contributes to the saving of natural resources.
