METHOD AND COMPUTER FOR PARALLEL COMPUTATION BETWEEN ELASTIC FINITE-ELEMENT METHOD ANALYTIC SOLVER PORTIONS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a computing method and a computer for solving a larger scale complicated problem by a finite-element method without preparing a lot of hard resources.;SOLUTION: Concerning the method for parallel computation between finite- element method portions, with which the entire problem is divided into plural portions, such a portion is further divided into plural regions and a CPU is assigned to each of divided portions. In the case of region division, an internal boundary is classified into a region related to the inside of the portion and a region shared between portions and the portion to assign a node shared between portions is predetermined. Besides, the inside of plural regions existent in the portion is solved while using a direct method and the node on the internal boundary shared by plural regions can be solved by repeat computation using a CG method.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
