PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and device for controlling a book stock of a library suited for automation of book stock control and prevention of unfair take-out of books in a library. ;SOLUTION: A tag 11 with an individual piece of book information stored in the inside is mounted on each hook 12, when a utilizer of out-library loan and return retires out of a library, so as to perform a read and write of a data in a nocontact condition between the book and a library retire security processing part.
