METHOD OF PRODUCING COLOR FILTER INTEGRATED WITH TFT BY USING PHOTOCATALYST, COLOR FILTER, AND LIQUID DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of producing a TFT-integrated color filter by which a conventionally required process of aligning a color filter and a TFT substrate is made unnecessary and a color filter with high aperture ratio and high resolution can be produced at low cost with good controlling property. ;SOLUTION: The method of producing a thin film transistor integrated color filter includes the following process. A substrate for the production of a color filter is prepared by arranging thin film transistors and light-transmitting pixel electrodes on a light-transmitting substrate and forming a photocatalyst thin film in contact with the pixel electrodes while the pixel electrodes are partly exposed. The prepared substrate is disposed on an electrolytic liquid which contains a coloring agent and has its solubility or dispersibility to a water-based liquid decreased by the changes in pH in such a manner that at least, the pixel electrodes and the photocatalyst thin film are in contact with the electrolytic liquid. The substrate for the production of a color filter is irradiated by UV rays while specified thin film transistors are selectively driven so as to form a colored film on the surface of the photocatalyst thin film corresponding to the thin film transistor not driven.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
