TV VIEWING, VIDEO RECORDING, REPRODUCING DEVICE USING PERSONAL COMPUTER AND PC CARD POWER SUPPLY SYSTEM, AND PC CARD

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To easily provide TV broadcast reception, recording and reproducing function to a notebook personal computer(PC). SOLUTION: A PC card 3 provided with an MPEG 2 encoder/decoder function is inserted to a PCMCIA slot 2 of a personal computer body 1, and a digital video box 5 is connected to the PC card 3 via an adaptor interface 4. The PC card 3 compresses a TV video signal received via the digital video box 5 in compliance with the MPEG 2 specification, transmits the compressed signal to the personal computer body 1 and transmits the TV audio signal without compression to the personal computer body 1. In a TV view mode, the compressed video signal and the audio signal that is not compressed are multiplexed to make the timing of the both in matching with each other, and the both are separated and outputted to a display section and a speaker. In a video recording mode, after the TV audio signal is compressed, the compressed TV audio signal is multiplexed on the TV video signal to make the timing of the both in matching with each other and the multiplexed signal is recorded by a hard disk 27.
