PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electronic certificate issue system that can issue an electronic certificate of an authentication station and an electronic certificate authentication system that can authenticate the validity of an electronic certificate. ;SOLUTION: When a common RA server 31 acquires an application sheet sent from a client terminal, the common RA server 31 acquires personal information from a common client authentication DB 32 according to a name included in the application sheet. After discriminating the validity of the application sheet based on the acquired personal information, the common client authentication DB 32 discriminates an issue condition of a certificate. When discriminating that the client satisfies the condition, the common RA server 31 transmits the application sheet that is digitally signed to an object authentication station. The common RA server 31 acquires an electronic certificate from the authentication station to which the application sheet is sent, then the common RA server 31 discriminates the validity of the electronic certificate and transmits the result to the client terminal 1.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
