PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide safety acupuncture and placebo acupuncture usable in double-blind method in which masking can be applied to both a patient and an operator.;SOLUTION: A placebo acupuncture needle comprises a needle tube 13; a first packing 14 filled and fixed into the needle tube 13 to resist the movement of a needle body 11; a second packing 17 filled and fixed to the lower part of the needle tube 13 to resist the movement of the needle body 11 when the needle body has come to a required depth; the needle body 11 movably held by the first packing 14, wherein length of the needle body 11 is such that the tip end 19 of the needle body 11 just stays on the skin when the needle body 11 has been fully inserted into the needle tube 13; and a stopper arranged at a bottom of a needle grip 12 or at a top of the needle tube 13 to prevent entrance of the needle grip 12 into the needle tube 13 when the needle body 11 advancing in the needle tube 13 has arrived at the skin surface. A safety acupuncture needle does not use the second packing 17 of the placebo acupuncture needle, and the needle body 11 is lengthened so as to arrive the insertion depth.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
