PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a system in which a host name is used to access a terminal whose address changes for every access in a communication network. SOLUTION: A host name is assigned in advance to clients 1 (#1), (#2) and a dynamic IP DNS server unit 4 having a DNS database 4a in which IP access in cross-reference with the host name is registered is provided on a network 3, and every time a client accesses the communication network 3, the IP address assigned from a network unit 2 is registered to the DNS database 4a of the dynamic IP DNS server 4 with the host name, and when the client 1 (#2) of the opposite party uses the host name of the client 1 (#1) to access the network, the client 1 accesses the DNS server unit 4 to recognize the IP address of the client 1 (#1) of the opposite party assigned to the host name and accesses the IP address by designating it to conduct communication.
