POST ATRIAL CARDIOVERSION HIGH RATE ATRIAL PACING WITH GRADUAL RATE RETURN

摘要

An implantable atrial defibrillator includes acardiovertor for applying cardioverting electrical energy tothe atria of a heart when the atria are in need ofcardioversion. The defibrillator further includes a pacerfor pacing the atria of the heart immediately after eachapplication of cardioverting electrical energy to the atriaof the heart. A rate control commences the pacing at arelatively high first rate and gradually reduces the rate toa lower second rate.
