The invention concerns a device for interpreting an oracle according to the old Chinese Book of Wisdom "I Ching". The device comprises six square sticks (11), whose four longitudinal sides (5) have a stamping on the left and right sides representing either a continuos line (7) or a discontinuous line (8). In accordance with a random experiment, the six sticks (11) are placed alongside each other horizontally in a free order. As a result, the six square sticks (11) respectively point to an image with six lines (14, 15) (known as "hexagrams") both on the left and right sides, which consist of a given combination of continuos (7) and discontinuous lines (8). The invention makes it possible to interpret an oracle according to the I Ching in an easier, clearer and faster manner in comparison with all other methods currently known (yarrow oracle, coin oracle, dice oracle or card oracle) by representing simultaneously the change hexagram (15) right next to the start hexagram (14) without having to deduce by calculating.
