-95/ -95 2000 1 Optical transmitter for use in IS-95C cdma2000 1x unified telecommunication service using the IS-95A/B BTS and method of transmitting signals using the same

PURPOSE: An optical transmission apparatus for IS-95C(CDMA2000 1x) integrated service using an IS-95A/B base station and a signal transmitting and receiving method using the same are provided to reduce an initial investment expense on an IS-95C by providers by doing IS-95A/B service and IS-95C service together without a base station for the IS-95C in an area with less traffic by using the IS-95A/B base station already installed nationwide. CONSTITUTION: In the case of transmission, an IS-95C signal is extracted by a distributor or a coupler(220a) at the rear end of the first up converter(210a) of a IS-95C BTS(120) and inputted to a transmission input terminal of a doner(140). The transmission signal is converted to an optical signal by the first RF module(240a) and the first optical module(250a). the optical signal is transmitted to a remote(150) of an IS-95A/B BTS(110b) located in an area where an IS-95C BTS is not installed but an IS-95C service is desired to be done through an optical line made of an optical cable(160). The transmission signal photoelectric-converted by the second optical module(250b) and the second RF module(240b) is combined by the distributor or the coupler(220b) at the rear end of the second up converter(210b) of the IS-95A/B BTS(110B) and transmitted through the IS-95A/B BTS(110B) to an IS-95C terminal. In the case of receiving, a receiving signal of the IS-95C is extracted by the distributor or the coupler(220b) at the rear end of a low noise amplifier(260b) of the IS-95A/B BTS(110b) and inputted to an input terminal of receivers(RX0,RX1) of the remote(150). The signal is converted to an optical signal by the second RF module(240b) and the second optical module(250b) and transmitted to the doner(140) installed in the IS-95C BTS(120) through an optical line made of the optical cable(160). The receiving signal photoelectric-converted by the doner(140) is combined by the distributor or the coupler(220a) at the rear end of the first low noise amplifier(260a) of a receiving terminal of the IS-95C BTS(120).
