4'-- A purifying process of 4'-epi-doxorubicin

PURPOSE: A process for purifying the title compound by selectively absorbing 4'-epi-doxorubicin under controlled pH condition, eluting and concentrating is provided, which can purify 4'-epi-doxorubicin in high purity of 99.7% and prevent adverse effects caused by harmful residual agrichemicals. CONSTITUTION: This purifying process comprises the steps of: preparing an organic solvent liquid having a pH value between 2 and 3 by dissolving 4'-epi-doxorubicin in a mixed solution of water and a polar organic solvent in a ratio of 50 to 80:50 to 20 and adding phosphoric acid, sulfuric acid or hydrochloric acid; selectively absorbing by applying the obtained liquid to an absorptive resin or chromatography; eluting into a mixed solution of water and polar organic solvent in a ratio of 50 to 80:50 to 20; concentrating and crystallizing.
