PURPOSE: A novel Bacillus sp. strain producing mosquitocidal delta-endotoxins and the mosquitocidal delta-endotoxins produced therefrom are provided. Endotoxins are effective in killing mosquitoes having Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. israelensis(Bti) endotoxin tolerance. CONSTITUTION: The microorganism, Bacillus thuringiensis subsp. guiyangiensis 21-1 (KCTC 8991P) produces mosquitocidal delta-endotoxins having 150, 90 or 70 kDa of molecular weight which are specific for only mosquitoes and show completely different properties in endotoxicity, DNA sequence and antigenicity from those of Bti endotoxins. The method for analysing and producing mosquitocidal delta-endotoxins comprises the steps of: isolating and identifying a microorganism producing the endotoxins; separating and dissolving the endotoxins and preparing antibody; measuring the biological activities of the endotoxines; subjecting the endotoxins to SDS-PAGE and immuno-blotting; and amplifying the gene of endotoxins by PCR.
