SUBSTANCE: single-mode fiber-optic waveguide has periodical perturbations in the cable core for production of a double refraction, which ensures mixing of polarization modes of light passing through the waveguide. Introduced in the cable core also perturbations for control of full dispersion. As a result, the full dispersion in the preset waveguide segments reverses the sign so that the algebraic sum of the products of full dispersion by the length equals the preselected value. Two different types of cable core perturbation are used for control both of dispersion of the polarized mode and of full dispersion. EFFECT: reduced dispersion and damping. 14 cl, 4 dwg
