The appliance has alternating stationary and moveable grate plate carriers, with moveable carriers on push frames connected to an oscillating drive. The push frame (12) is suspended from a linear pendulum system (10) consisting of opposite support/hanging pendulums (13) and hanging/support pendulums (14). These are alternately turned through 180 deg relative to each other, and are in working connection with each other via a pendulum frame (11). The first pendulums are fastened with one end to a static part of grate or foundations, and with their free ends to the pendulum frame. The second pendulums are connected with their ends to the pendulum frame and the push frame.
