Heat use calculation device operates using the thinning principle where a measurement fluid when heated expands with the expansion proportional to the heat absorbed. The invention has an improved design that reduces the ease with which fraudulent alterations can be made. Device comprises an upper plastic part and a lower aluminum part with the upper part having measurement tubes containing a measurement fluid in contact with the lower part. The upper part (1) is connected to the lower part using a sloping nose (31) and a seal with a security element. The measurement tube (11) is held in the upper part by two guides (12) so that it slides up and down with two springs (15) and an axial spring (18) to hold it in place. Held next to the measurement tube is the previous years measurement tube (17) as a comparison. A window is arranged in the upper part so that it cannot be removed. The lower part has a device to prevent alteration.
