A method for writing data to the programmable read-only memory (eeprom) of a microprocessor-based, portable data carrier

Data is transmitted sequentially in blocks from a programming device to a movable data medium and stored meanwhile in an I/O buffer prior to being written/programmed into an electrical erasable programmable read-only memory (EEPROM). A defined data transfer time is required for transferring data from the programming device to the movable data medium. A defined programming time is required for writing/programming data into the EEPROM.
