The optical signalling device has a number of light source elements (2), e.g. LED's, positioned on a base plate (1), with a condenser (3), e.g. a Fresnel lens, positioned at a given distance from the light source elements along the optical axis, for providing a parallel light beam. The beam has a required beam characteristic or light intensity distribution, determined by the positioning of the light source elements relative to the base plate.
