To separate different temporal and spectral portions of radiation, optical automatic imaging is used on periodic phase and/or amplitude patterns (2) oriented at a defined angle to an optical axis. It is also applied at the same time during single laser impulses on a detector surface (5) oriented to the optical axis at a defined angle.
