Equipping of an airplane with sensors for continuous measurement of climate affecting gases in the undisturbed air and in the engine wake to provide engine aging data and climatic or meteorological data for ground collection
Analysis system is based on positioning of two sets of sensors on an airplane. The first set (2, 3, 4) are positioned along and on an end of a main wing, i.e. in undisturbed air, while a second set (6-9) are placed on a tail wing in an engine wake. The two sets of data can be combined to make predictions about engine aging, while data from the forward sensors can be collected on the ground.
