摘要

Composite material for thin-film coating of large substrates comprises: (a) a base layer of titanium or of primed steel or copper; (b) a transitional layer of primer and titanium dioxide; and (c) a working layer of titanium dioxide containing 0.1-5 wt.% of a metal. An Independent claim is also included for production of the composite material by: (i) roughening the surface of the base layer; (ii) priming the base layer, if of steel or copper, by thermal spraying at atmospheric pressure; (iii) applying the transitional layer; and (iv) applying the working layer by flame spraying using a wire comprising titanium dioxide and a metal powder or sheath; where the base layer is kept at 60 deg C or less by cooling with air during steps (i)-(iii).
