The method involves using a device to measuring transverse acceleration (aQM) or yaw rate with one device and vehicle speed (Vx) with another sensor. The steering wheel angle (WLR) is also measured, and a value for transverse acceleration (aQB) or yaw rate is calculated from the steering wheel angle and the vehicle speed. A difference is obtained (daQ) between the measured and calculated values. An Independent claim is included for a device for implementing the method.
