The lighting body is in the form of a double helix with two connections (18,20) at one end. The diameter (D1,D2) of the double helix and the pitch (S1,S2) of the double helix windings increase steadily towards the two connections. The steady increase especially contains a linear, quadratic, cubic or exponential increase. Independent claims are also included for the following: a method of making a lighting body.
