A load moment inhibitor (1) has inhibitor elements (4,4') that can be braced radially with an inside wall (51) of an adjusting casing (5) across inside bracing surfaces (43,43') next to a main drive element (3) and outside clamping surfaces (41,41',42,42'). The inside bracing surfaces, the contact surfaces for the main drive element, the outside clamping surfaces and the inside wall of the adjusting casing are all designed as diagonal surfaces that run at an angle to the axis of rotation (30) of the adjusting device. The diagonal surfaces turned towards each other are held in a permanent position together by a force that operates in the direction of the axis of rotation.
