Partial discharge orientation method for transformer involves removing external interference signals from partial discharge signal through localization of partial discharge within transformer
The conformance between the counted back input signals and production signals of the partial discharge at a true originating location, is determined. The external interference signals are removed from the partial discharge signals through the localization of the partial discharge within a transformer. The method involves performing localization of the source partial discharge by folding the transmission function of a transformer or dividing the transmission functions of the winding sections of the transformer. The partial discharge is measured after localization through the external terminals. The originating locations are determined with the aid of the transmission functions within the transformer based on the measured partial discharge.
