Furnace roller (1) comprises: a rotating shaft (2) positioned outside of the furnace and having inner channels (3, 4) for introducing a cooling medium; and support rings (5) arranged on the outer surfaces in a wheel-like manner. The shaft has outer bearing surfaces (6, 6', 6'') on receiving regions of support rings to form polygonal cross-section. Each support ring is formed by interlocking inner fitting surfaces (7, 7', 7''). Preferred Features: The support rings are produced in one piece from high temperature resistant material, preferably nickel or corundum. Each support ring consists of at least two concentric rings.
