The method involves producing a yaw torque which counteracts the vehicle instability wherein the level of control is dependent on a regulator commando which is determined in dependence on the difference of the quotients of the vehicle cross acceleration (by) and the vehicle speed (V) on one hand and the current yawing rate which actually occurs, on the other hand.
