Test strip (7) for measuring blood sugar content has electrical contacts at one end. Drops of blood are placed on it and it is inserted into an electronic blood sugar meter. The strip has a handle (4) with a large aperture (3) at the opposite end. This assists in withdrawing the strip for its package (6), inserting it into the meter and withdrawing it again after the measurement has been made.
