The clamp includes a spring unit (40) acting between two jaws of which one is hinged. The spring unit presses the hinged jaw (20) into the closed position. The hinged jaw is pivoted into the closed position alone by the spring unit without a locking unit (30) coming into contact with it. The spring unit consists of a wire-form element which has two axially space apart helically wound sections connected by a U-form section, and two free end sections with each connected to the helically wound sections.
