The client system (400) acquires output from vehicle sensors (110) and manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor (210). An error sampling unit (200) judges error in actuator drive, contact failure. The client system forwards received data to server (500). The server compares received data with that stored in database (600) for every model of car, to diagnose failure of electronic control unit (ECU) (120). Independent claims are also included for the following: (a) Self diagnostic method for car; (b) Self diagnostic algorithm.
