An arrangement for the quantitative and qualitative analysis of particles (1) in gases comprises a measuring chamber; an oscillating system having a sensor fixed relative to the measuring chamber; and a switch (4) for determining the characteristic oscillating parameters of the oscillating system and an active deviating and transporting device for the gas to be analyzed. An arrangement for the quantitative and qualitative analysis of particles (1) in gases comprises a measuring chamber with an inlet for the gas to be analyzed; an oscillating system having a sensor, preferably a piezoelectric resonator, fixed relative to the measuring chamber and provided with a collecting surface for the particles to be analyzed; and a switch (4) for determining the characteristic oscillating parameters of the oscillating system and an active deviating and transporting device for the gas to be analyzed. An Independent claim is also included for a process for the quantitative and qualitative analysis of particles in gases. Preferred Features: A screen (8) with a screen opening (9) is used as the active deviating and transporting device, the cross-sectional surface of the opening being smaller than the collecting surface of the sensor. The screen is in combination with a device for moving the screen relative and essentially parallel to the collecting surface of the sensor.
