Nucleic acid (I), comprising at least one ubiquitin coding section and a selection marker fixed at a separate location from the ubiquitin coding section, is new. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a vector comprising (I); (2) a nucleic acid (II) comprising a fully defined sequence of 7630 base pairs as given in the specification; (3) a cell comprising (I) or (II); (4) a cell line comprising (I) or (II), preferably HA-Ub RAW DSM accession number 2478 from mouse macrophages; and (5) performing metabolic investigations, comprising manufacturing the (I) or (II) in order to transfect a host cell.
