Torsional vibration device for ultrasonic machining has axially symmetrical manner ultrasonic torsional converter including forward body with length equal to half resonant frequency
The device has front and rear bodies holding a piezoelectric elemenet and an electrode plate and an ultrasonic torsional converter arranged and formed in an axially symmetrical manner including the forward body with its length equal to the half the resonant frequency. A stepped circular column section is provided in the forward body for setting a frequency and a tool mounting section is provided in the leading end section of the forward body. The device has front and rear bodies (11,12) holding a piezoelectric element (13,14) for torsional vibration and an electrode plate (15,16) between them and an ultrasonic torsional converter of the Langevin type clamped with bolts and formed by engaging a bolt (18) passing through the piezoelectric element and electrode plate with central threaded holes on the forward and rear bodies. The ultrasonic torsional converter is arranged and formed in an axially symmetrical manner including the forward body with its length equal to the half the resonant frequency. A stepped circular column section (23) is provided in the forward body for setting a frequency and a tool mounting section (25) is provided in the leading end section of the forward body.
