The phase shift key transmission method has defined phase constellation zones (Q1-Q4) providing bit symbols. An estimator evaluates the phase values of the received signals. The receiver has a set of exclusion zones (B1) around the axes between the phase zones, and the estimator does not use the outputs from results in the exclusion zones.
