Fischer-Tropsch synthesis has stage(s) separating water and hydrocarbons and water purification stage(s) with adsorbent chosen from activated carbon, hydrophobic clay or hydrophobic zeolite
Fischer-Tropsch synthesis has stage(s) separating water and hydrocarbons and water purification stage(s) with adsorbent chosen from activated carbon, hydrophobic clay or hydrophobic zeolite
The production of hydrocarbons and pure water by Fischer-Tropsch synthesis includes stage(s) to separate the water and hydrocarbons and water purification stage(s) involving contact with an adsorbent. The adsorbent is chosen from activated carbon, hydrophobic clay or its derivatives and hydrophobic zeolite or its derivatives. Preferred Features: Between separation and purification there is a stripping stage using steam or inert gas. This stage operates at 0.02-10 MPa and 60-210 deg C. The adsorbent operates at = 50 deg C. The amount of water treated per hour is about 5 times the mass of the adsorbent. Two adsorbent beds are arranged in parallel. One is used while the other is regenerated. The zeolite may have a silicon/aluminum molecular ratio - 20. After the purification stage(s) the water percolates through a bed of bacteria and/or activated sludge. Finally the water is exposed to air, mineralized and gasified with carbon dioxide at = 0.5 MPa also produced by the synthesis.
