PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plant having a synthesizing activity of a co-polyester consisting of monomers derived from a 4-7C short chain fatty acid, and a method for producing the co-polyester. SOLUTION: The fused gene obtained by bonding a gene encoding an enzyme for synthesizing the co-polyester consisting of the monomers derived from the 4-7C short chain fatty acid with a gene encoding a peroxisome-targeting signal sequence, a vector containing the above gene, a transformed body containing the above gene and a method for producing the polyester from the above transformed body are provided.
