PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an investigating method by which the environment in the sea in a planned sea area can precisely be grasped by a simple means when forming or reviving a seaweed bed.;SOLUTION: A seaweed-growing device 1 obtained by attaching seaweeds 5 in the nearly same growth stage to a plurality of positions at a prescribed interval along a longitudinal direction of a mooring rope 3 having a float 4 and an anchor 2 connected thereto is set in the sea in the planned sea area so as to form a nearly vertical state. The environment in the sea at each depth in the objective sea area can be easily and precisely judged by observing the growth states of the seaweeds 5 positioned at different depths over a proper period after the setting, and comparing the growth states thereof. Based on the compared result, the kinds of the transplanting seaweeds, the attaching positions thereof, construction condition, and, in addition, the shape and size of the construction as an epiphytic base can be determined.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
