PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for raising ornamental plants by raising the plants on a tree in an aquarium and the constitution of a tool therefor. SOLUTION: This method for raising the plants comprises arranging the tree 2 in the aquarium 1, making supporting materials permeating water 6 and freely deformable adhere to the tree 2, placing the plants 5 having root parts integral with soil 4 on the supporting materials, feeding water to the supporting material, thereby realizing the raising of the plants 5 on the tree 2 and laying a bottom bed sand 40 having a granular sintered material containing acid soil and a carbonate of an alkali metal or an alkaline earth metal at the bottom of the aquarium 1. Thereby, even the raising of aquatic plants can be realized. The tool is used for the method.
