PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To develop a body measuring instrument body which enables a person to be measured to precisely measure the rugged shapes of not only the back but flanks of the person to be measured at ease without forcing vexatious work and to provide a method of forming data from the information relating to the bed environment of the bedding user and the information on the bedding user by using such a measuring instrument as the instrument described above for the purpose of manufacturing the bedding, a method of manufacturing the bedding utilizing this data, a sales method utilizing the data, a customer management method utilizing the data and a bedding study development method utilizing the data. SOLUTION: This body measuring instrument B is constituted to measure the rugged shapes of not only the back but flanks of the person to be measured in a posture that the upper half of the body rises up and has a displacement measuring instrument 110 provided with one measuring element 111 which ascends, descends and moves in a vertical direction while thrusting the back and flanks of the person to be measured.
