PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To create pattern-embroidering data for forming embroidering seams by a sewing machine, based on an image picked-up by a digital camera.;SOLUTION: There is provided a pattern-embroidery sewing machine which comprise a recording medium for storing image data picked-up by the digital camera, a designating means for fetching the image data from the recording medium and designating an image section to be stored as the pattern-embroidering data, a setting means for setting the type of stitch of the designated image section, a creating means for creating the pattern-embroidering data for the image section, based on the set type, and a memory means for storing the created pattern-embroidering data. There is also provided an apparatus for creating the pattern-embroidering data, which comprises the recording medium for storing the image data picked-up by the digital camera, the designating means for fetching the image data from the recording medium and designating the image section to be stored as the pattern-embroidering data, the setting means for setting the type of stitch of the designated image section, the creating means for creating the pattern-embroidering data for the image section, based on the set type, and the memory means for storing the created pattern-embroidering data.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
