PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a nuclear-reactor structural material whose heat resistance is high, whose neutron economy is satisfactory because a neutron absorption reaction cross section is small and whose (n, ), and (n, p) reaction cross section is small, to provide a nuclear reactor and a fusion reactor which use the nuclear-reactor structural material and especially to provide a gas-cooled direct cycle fast breeder. SOLUTION: The nuclear-reactor structural material is provided in such a way that high-purity chromium at a purity of 99.95% or more is fused in high-purity iron at a purity of 99.9995% or more. The nuclear reactor and the fusion reactor which are provided use the nuclear-reactor structural material. Especially the gas-cooled direct cycle fast breeder is provided.
