PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly accurate safety mechanism device preventing malfunction of a switch.;SOLUTION: This safety mechanism device is for a sheet post process, stapling or not stapling sheets sent out from an image forming means and discharging them to a paper discharge tray. It is provided with a mounting block 82 for piling the sheets before a stapling process, a safety shutter plate 92 vertically moving with a predetermined interval from the mounting block 82 to cover a stapling area, a microswitch 93 turned on and off to stop execution of the stapling process, and a switch member 95 turning off the switch to induce stoppage of the stapling process when moved upward a width larger than the predetermined interval and amplifying a stroke of the microswitch 93 in the direction moving toward a contact point position on the basis of a vertical stroke of the safety shutter plate 92 moving from a position of the predetermined interval.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
