PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To implement a shear deformation preventing device for a seismic isolator, which prevents shear deformation of the seismic isolator under construction, and prevents application of a horizontal force on the seismic isolator, and to implement a sliding material, and a shear deformation preventing method for the seismic isolator.;SOLUTION: According to the shear deformation preventing device, a seismic isolator receiving base plate 10 having a sliding pad 3b stuck to an upper surface thereof is fixed to a foundation 11, and the seismic isolator 2 having a stainless plate 3a attached to a bottom surface of a lower flange 2b is mounted on an upper surface of the sliding pad 3b, followed by fixing the seismic isolator receiving base plate 10 and the lower flange 2b of the seismic isolator 2 to each other by means of a bolt 9. Before a roof pole 1 is mounted on an upper portion of the seismic isolator 2, a finish plate 6a of a hook plate 6 is mounted on an upper surface of a base plate 7a. Further, while a side plate 6b makes contact with peripheral portions of an upper flange 2a and the lower flange 2b, the base plate 7a and the upper flange 2a are clamped together by means of a high tension bolt 8, followed by fixing a deformation preventing/reinforcing means 4 to the seismic isolator 2.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
