PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a folding angle detecting method and its apparatus capable of precisely detecting a folding angle when the folding angle is different in the front and rear sides with respect to the center line of bending in plate folding.;SOLUTION: In V-shaped folding, the folding angle detecting method in the plate folding machine is provided with sliders 33 and 35 in which two sets each respectively locating in the front and rear sides of the center line 31 of an upper die in inside the upper die 13 are independently arranged and also movable up and down, measuring tips 47f and 49f having curved surfaces with different radius curvature capable of touching and engaging with a folding side of the processed material located in respective lower end portions of two sliders in the front side, measuring tips 47r and 49r having symmetry with the aforementioned measuring tips in the front and rear sides capable of touching and engaged with the folding side of the processed material located in respective lower end portions of two sliders in the rear side, position detecting means 53f and 53r detecting a relative moving distance between sliders each other in the aforementioned front and rear sliders, and a calculating means calculating a folding angle of the processed material on a relative moving distance basis between the aforementioned sliders each other.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
