SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR INFORMING CALLED PARTY TONE AND CALLED PARTY IMAGE DISPLAY THROUGH SELECTION BY CALLING PARTY

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To sound a called party tone or display an image on a screen by transmitting a high volume of voice information or image information at the time of making a telephone call.;SOLUTION: An calling party terminal 1 transmits a call setting message affixed with information indicating the identification of a called party service to a called party terminal 2 through an exchange system 3. Upon receiving the call setting message addressed to the called party terminal 2, the exchange system 3 retrieves a contracted telephone number from the calling party number and the called party number, transmits the call setting message to the called party terminal 2 when contracted telephone number is retrieved and informs the calling party terminal 1 that the called party service is available upon receiving a response of available called party service from the called party terminal 2. Upon receiving a notice of available called party service, the calling party terminal 1 transmits a data message while affixing voice/image information thereto. Upon receiving the data message, the called party terminal 2 informs termination of a call by regenerating selected voice/image information in the data message.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
