PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method, device, and medium for performing psychological evaluation by specifying the type of a noise source using a physical factor led from an auto-correlation function and a cross-correlation function that change with time at a time region based on a human hearing-cerebrum function system.;SOLUTION: A method for specifying the type of the noise source is presented, where the method includes a step for sampling and recording the acoustic signal of an environmental noise using a voice-sampling device, an ACF operation step for calculating the auto-correlation function (ACF) using Fourier transform from the recorded acoustic signal, an ACF factor operation step for obtaining each ACF factor from the calculated ACF, and a step for judging the type of the noise source using the obtained ACF factor, thus determining the type (for example, the noise of automobiles, aircraft) of an unknown noise source and further specifying even the car model and car type.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2002,JPO
