FONT MECHANISM HAVING FUNCTION FOR DELIVERING ARGUMENT TO CHARACTER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a font mechanism, with which a function for changing the form of character conventionally provided by an application for editing a document corresponding to a context or the like is charged on the side of font and shared with the application. SOLUTION: The information of the context or the like to affect the form of character is extracted from a delivered character string by the plotting operator of the font mechanism, it is confirmed from the name of character provided from the character string of a plotting target by the plotting operator, who delivers the information to the plotting procedures of font as an argument, whether or not that character takes the argument and when the character takes the argument, a partial character string, which is the argument, is extracted by analyzing the character string of the plotting target. When the number of arguments is determined, the analysis is performed until extracting partial character strings as many as that number and when the number of arguments is not determined, the analysis is performed until extracting partial character strings just before an argument terminal. Thus, the character string of the plotting target is converted to the array of names of structured characters including a character not to take the argument and dispatched to the plotting procedures corresponding to these names of characters for each partial character string, which is the argument.
