PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for effectively suppressing the occurrence of dioxines by the addition of a small amount of chemical without requiring large dioxines-detoxicating equipment when sintering a raw material containing a catalyst promoting occurrence of dioxines.;SOLUTION: The method employs a chemical having the boiling point of ≥50°C and also having one or more characteristics of being incorporated with coordination atoms coordinately bonded onto a catalyst promoting occurrence of dioxine, of being incorporated with elements having electronegativity smaller than that of oxygen and chlorine and of being incorporated with elements other than hydrogen and carbon having electron affinity lower than that of oxygen and chlorine to the raw material for sintering, whereby the production of dioxines in a sintering stage is suppressed. In particular, the chemical is added only to the raw material for sintering containing a copper compound of ≥0.003 mass %. The chemical is added to the lower layer part of a packed bed in a sintering machine or to a sole ore, thus suppressing occurrence of dioxines in a sintering process.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2001,JPO
